The Lamp Lighting ceremony is a sacred significant tradition in nursing profession symbolising the light of knowledge, compassion and service inspired by the ideals of Florence Nightingale. The building Nurses adorned in their uniforms for the first time, formally marks the student’s entry into the nursing profession.

The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony of the 2025-2026 batch of B.sc Nursing students of J.J. College of Nursing held on 06.02.2026 at the Auditorium. Invocation has been done by Dr.Sripriya Principal, J.J. College of Nursing welcomed the gathering the dignitaries on the dais has lightened the lamp and inaugurated the ceremony. The novice nurses were received the light from the Principal and faculties and the oath administered by Dr.Sripriya Principal. Word of blessing was delivered by Mr.R.Chenthur Selvan Vice Chairman, Sowdambikaa Group of Institution. Dr.Senthilkumar Nallusamy M.D., DNB (Med), DNB (cardio), FACC, FSCAI. Chief Interventional Cardiologist RANA Hospital, Trichy-18 delivered the Chief Guest address. Felicitation of guest was done by our Vice Chairman Mr.Chenthur Selvan. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.Jeevetha.R Ist year Co-ordinator. The programme was concluded with National Anthem.
